Calling All Cheeseheads! 

If Wisconsin is known for anything, it's cheese. And in this special tasting, we get to highlight and feature customer favorite Carr Valley Cheese. Certified Master Cheesemaker Sid Cook has won more top national and international awards than any other cheesemaker in North America. As a fourth-generation cheesemaker, he received his cheesemaking license when he was 16 and now owns and operates four cheese plants and seven retail cheese stores in Wisconsin. As a company, Carr Valley Cheese began in 1902; today it's best known for producing high-quality, artisanal aged Cheddars. Using cow, goat, and sheep milks, Sid enjoys creating new cheeses, and Carr Valley now produces 100+ different dairy products. He crafts cheese the old-fashioned way, by hand, with a goal of producing high-quality cheese with outstanding flavor. 

Fortunately for us, Carr Valley's own Aleta Junik is making a special trip down just to see us and guide our guests through a tasting of 7 of our favorite cheeses, each complemented with food pairing bites to showcase their world of aroma, taste, and flavor. Come help us show America's Dairyland what a hearty Texas Welcome looks like! (Your stomach will be thrilled you did...)

One ticket = one person and includes:

  • 7 cheeses
  • 7 food pairings
  • additional treats like crackers, pickles, & corn nuts (GF crackers avail if requested in allergies)

Beverages?

While water is provided at the tasting, we also offer bottles of wine to purchase in advance from our Cheese Shop (in purchasing options below). Alternatively, you may purchase wine, beer, and cider in the Cheese Shop prior to your event. (The Cheese Shop is across the street and open daily 11-7.) You may also BYOB; however, please note that we charge a $15 per bottle service fee, starting September 1.

Reserved Seating

We assign seats prior to your event. If you wish to sit with guests who are purchasing separately, we must be notified in advance. At the time of ticket purchase, there is a question prompt for you to list others in your group. Please note that we cannot seat groups larger than 8 at the same table. (Big groups? Know Before You Go:

  • TIMING: We try to start our events as close to on time as possible. Please arrive on time or a little early. (Doors open 15 min before start time.) We'll guide all guests through a 1.5 hour tasting, leaving an additional 30 min for socializing. Total event time is 2 hours. 
  • LOCATION: Event will be held in-person at our Hyde Park Community Tasting Room (500 Park Blvd, Austin TX 78751), accessible off Duval Street.
  • PARKING: Limited free parking is available onsite and neighboring streets in designated areas; there is additional paid parking behind the cheese shop across
    the street.

FAQ

Please note that event tickets are non-refundable. Tickets may be exchanged for store credit / event tickets of equal value if given 48 hours notice.

In accordance with local guidelines, masks are highly encouraged but optional for both guests and hosts.

If you are feeling unwell on the day of the event, please let us know and we are happy to rebook you!

Our event hosts have access to free and rapid Covid testing to help ensure their safety and the safety of their guests.

Our public cheese classes are ideal for 1-7 people.

If you are coming with a group and would like to be seated together, please purchase all of the tickets together.

Please respect our event hosts’ goal to create a positive and unforgettable experience for all attendees. If your group is loud or disruptive, our event hosts will give you a warning. If they must address you a second time, you will be asked to leave the event with no refund given.

If you would like to have the whole space for your group, inquire about a private event booking!

We will do our best to accommodate allergies. Please note your allergy in the booking comments.

Note that Antonelli’s does not currently carry or offer Vegan Cheeses for classes.

On our tasting plates, we often offer a mix of both pasteurized and unpasteurized cheeses.

Antonelli’s Cheese is not a certified nut or gluten free facility.

Unless specifically listed as a 'family' event, we ask that all guests for in-person events be 13 years or older.

Please note that class content is often catered for an adult audience and the majority of class time is structured tasting and guided instruction with some breaks for socializing.
